A wonderful small size panel of Indian block print, resist dyed and hand drawn and painted chintz dating from the 18th century. These bauwen panels were used by the woman of Marken as decorative dress fronts or stomachers, part of the traditional costume of this area, Noord Holland. This panel has a monogram T K in tiny cross stitches. With a lovely floral pattern with pear shaped pods, worked in madder red, indigo and dark brown block
