In Part A, students relate increases in pulse rate, body temperature, and respiratory rate during exercise to the increased need for energy and the cycling of oxygen and carbon dioxide through the body. In Part B, students relate the presence of muscle fatigue to lactic acid produced through anaerobic respiration. b.
